CBSE has released the updated eligibility norms and qualification code list for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 examination. Candidates applying online for Primary Stage (Paper 1) and Junior Stage (Paper 2) must select their respective educational code carefully in the application form.

CTET Primary Level (Paper 1: Class 1 to 5) Eligibility Codes
- Code 01: Senior Secondary (10+2 or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, along with passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / D.Ed).
- Code 02: 10+2 or intermediate with at least 45% marks, passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year D.El.Ed as per NCTE Regulations 2002 guidelines.
- Code 03: Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% aggregate marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Code 04: Class 12th (Intermediate) with a minimum of 50% marks, plus passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

CTET Junior Level (Paper 2: Class 6 to 8) Eligibility Codes
- Code 01: Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in any stream with passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- Code 02: Graduation or Post Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
- Code 03: Graduation with at least 45% marks along with passed or appearing in 1-year / 2-year B.Ed as per NCTE Recognition Norms & Standards.
- Code 04: Intermediate (10+2) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.El.Ed.
- Code 05: Senior Secondary (10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or pursuing final year of 4-year integrated B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Code 06: Graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, passed or appearing in B.Ed (Special Education).
- Code 07: Candidates who have qualified an NCTE-approved B.Ed program or are currently pursuing any recognized teacher education course under NCTE/RCI guidelines.
- Code 08: Master’s Degree (Post Graduation) with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) and passed or appearing in the 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed program.
